Going to Heaven?

ARE YOU GOING TO HEAVEN?

The most important decision that Ryan made in his life was to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. If you were to die tonight, do you know where you’d spend eternity? There are many that can’t answer that question. However, if you are saved, you know that you will spend eternity in Heaven.

On September 8, 2002, Ryan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a Pete Einstein concert that was held during one of his youth group meetings. Pete invited anyone who wanted to accept Christ to stand, and Ryan and several others at the concert stood as Pete lead them in prayer as they asked Jesus into their hearts.

In the Bible, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).” There is one mediator between man and God and that is Jesus Christ (I Timothy 2:5). If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

What does it mean to be saved? It is what you need to know and do in order to go to Heaven. It’s a simple prayer that you can say either publicly or privately. It’s as easy to remember as ABC:

A . . . Admit that you are a sinner because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

B . . . Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins (Romans 5:8).

C . . . Confess your sins and turn from them (I John 1:9).

Here is a suggested prayer: “O God, I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins. I am willing to turn from my sin. I receive Jesus as my Savior; I confess Him as my Lord. From now on I want to follow Him in the fellowship of His Church. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer and truly meant it, you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You have God’s promise of eternal life. Welcome to your new life as a believer! You are a new child in Christ . . . so what’s next? If you need help in determining what to do next, please get in touch with any of the following people:
